1. Chocolate and Cocoa Powder

You can determine the toxicity by checking the amount of chocolate that your dog consumes. Dr. Wismer says that darker the chocolate, the more it will be poisoning for your dog. Symptoms of chocolate poisoning include:
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Seizures
Baker’s chocolate and cocoa powder is more dangerous than milk chocolate.

2. Xylitol


Xylitol is an artificial sweetener that found in  candy, baked goods, and sugarless gum. It can lead to a life-threatening drop in blood sugar and liver damage in dogs. Pet Poison Helpline (PPH) says that within 10 to 15 minutes of ingestion, low blood sugar can develop and it can cause vomiting and loss of coordination. 

3. Grapes

Both grapes and raisins are harmful for your dogs and can cause the following conditions in dogs:
  • Vomiting
  • Kidney failure
  • increase urination 
  • increase thirst 
Keep your pup away from these kind of food which are not good for them. 

4. Onion and Garlic


Did you know about this? Onion and garlic can cause anemia and lead to the destruction of red blood cells in dogs. Your pooch can become lethargic and can lead to loss of appetite due to a toxic reaction.

5. Alcohol

Don't hesitate to call your vet, if your dog ingest alcohol, even a small amount. It can lead to life threatening and you will notice a serious poisoning symptoms like seizures. The sooner you diagnose potential poisoning the better, so if they’re acting strangely don’t hesitate to call your veterinarian.
